What Is An EFT File?
An EFT fingerprint file or "Electronic Fingerprint Transmission" is a secure digital file that has a persons fingerprint impressions and personal information such as name, date of birth, and other identifying factors stored in it.
You need software to be able to open or read this file and it's typically done by agencies or departments that request fingerprint submissions from people.
Who Accepts EFT Files?
Departments and agencies like the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms) for its Form 4 submission and OPM "Office of Personnel Management" for certain fingerprinting based background checks.
